Bhawanipatna: In a tragic incident, three students met watery grave in a stream at Baringdar under Sadar police limits of Kalahandi district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Saurav Naik, Sunil Panda and Bikram Panda. While Saurav was a Plus II student of Pragati College, two others were students of Bhawanipatna Junior College.
A group of students from different colleges had gone on picnic to near Baringdar, when the mishap took place. Some of the revellers were taking bath at a stream when three of them, aged around 16-17 years, fell into deep waters and drowned, sources said.
A pall of gloom has descended in the area after the bodies of the three students were fished out from the stream.
