India’s Engineering-Steel Marvels: Jindal Panther Shines over Chenab Bridge in Kashmir Valley

BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: After hitting headlines for India’s longest rail-cum road bridge on the mighty river Brahmaputra connecting Country’s North-East with rest parts, for its meticulously designed special grade Copper bearing thick Steel Plates by Odisha’s Angul facility of Jindal Steel and Power Limited, the Naveen Jindal led JSPL Group again in news, this time for Chenab Bridge in Kashmir Valley.

“The Chenab Bridge is an Indian railway steel-and-concrete arch bridge under construction in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. When completed, the bridge will span the Chenab River at a height of 359 m, making it the world’s highest rail bridge.#EngineeringMarvels,” Jindal Panther tweeted @JindalPanther.

The longest bridge in Northern India over river Chenab at Pargwal in Khour Sub Division of Jammu district, bordering Pakistan likely completed by end of 2021, and sources said. The Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways had sanctioned this 1640 mt long bridge project worth Rs 206 crore on January 18, 2016. The work was authorised by the State R&B department to the JKPCC on April 16, 2016.
