BHUBANESWAR:This year, it has come to light that all the textbooks printed from class 1 to class 8 based on the new National Education Policy 2020 have been found to have extensive errors. This has led to intense dissatisfaction among the students, teachers, guardians and education-loving people of the state. The All India Democratic Students Organization (AIDSO) has also strongly opposed it and the organization’s state president Somnath Behera and editor Siddhartha Rath, in a press release, have strongly condemned the extremely reckless comments made by the Public Education Minister regarding the future of lakhs of tender-minded students of the state and have demanded strict action against all the culprits.
While the overall development of the students has been destroyed by the introduction of the new National Education Policy, these textbooks have been prepared very carelessly. More than 700 errors have been found in the eighth grade textbook alone and more than 380 in the seventh grade textbook. While a total of 1700 errors were observed, more errors could have been found if they were ignored. AIDSO has said that; The 1700 errors that have been found are mainly based on facts. But a fundamental change has been made to the curriculum by inserting many unscientific, illogical and fabricated stories. Due to this, the students will not only get factually incorrect education but will also get distorted education, which will severely hamper their thinking ability.
As a result, by receiving this incorrect education, the future of lakhs of tender-minded students of the state will not only be dark, but they will also become victims of blindness and stupidity. In fact, AIDSO has alleged that this textbook change is a far-reaching conspiracy to destroy the government education system and a cowardly attempt to keep future generations away from science-based education. The organization has strongly demanded the immediate cancellation of the National Education Policy 2020, which is destroying education, the introduction of a science-based curriculum, and exemplary punishment against all officials involved in printing incorrect content in textbooks, including the Minister of Public Education. The government should immediately withdraw this faulty textbook and provide new textbooks to the students, otherwise a strong student movement will be organized in the coming days, AIDSO has warned.
