Sumant Kumar Panda, Manindra Sundar Das, Jayakrishna Prasthi, Dushmant Barik collaborated with the Indian Film Critics Association to organize this special screening of the prestigious film.
The film is mainly based on issues like conversion, love jihad and terrorism. The story of ‘The Kerala Story 2′ begins with a shocking statement that India could become an Islamic nation in the next 25 years. Then the story takes place in the love jihad incidents happening in different states. In it, the story progresses with the lives of three Hindu girls. A family from Rajasthan complains to a police station that their 16-year-old daughter was forcibly converted.
This is followed by a story from Madhya Pradesh, where a Hindu girl is tricked into getting married in the name of love and pressured to convert. In the third story, a Muslim youth from Kerala lures a Hindu girl into a live-in relationship by trapping her in love. Then the Muslim youth pressures her to convert but the girl insists that she will not give up her religion, after which the situation becomes tense. The oppressed community has become united. They said the jihadists are targeting our daughters. They have broken our daughters’ trust. They have stolen their future. This time we will not remain silent. This time we will not tolerate it.’
The story of this film is completely different from the first Kerala Story. The story of this film is more expansive than the first story and spreads to different states of India. Ulfa Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha play the lead roles in this film.
Director Kamaksha Narayan Singh has beautifully portrayed sensitive subjects. Producer Vipul Amritlal Shah, along with co-producers Ashin A. Shah and Ravichand Nallappa (Sunshine Pictures) have given this film a fresh look like the first part. Amritlal Shah says that the film is based on true events and Indian legal cases, which are designed to spark discussion.
The first film, “The Kerala Story”, was released in 2023, starring Adah Sharma in the lead role. The film made headlines for its controversial storyline, which claimed that 32,000 girls from Kerala had gone missing and joined the terrorist organization ISIS (ISIS). The film was a box office success. It grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide on a budget of ₹20 crore. The film also won two National Film Awards.
