BHUBANESWAR:Under the efforts of Chief Engineer of Bhubaneswar Muncipal Corporation (BMC) Shri Prafulla Kumar Rout, CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CSIR–CRRI), New Delhi has successfully demonstrated patented ‘Two-Pack Pothole Repair Technology’ by repairing three potholes in Sahid Nagar area of Bhubaneswar during the rainy season.

The exhibition was led by Dr. Shiksha Purva Kar, Scientist ‘F’ and Alternate Head, Flexible Pavement Department. He was accompanied by Shri Manoj Kumar Shukla, Scientist ‘G’ and Head, Quality Management Department, and Dr. Vinod Karar, Scientist ‘G’ and Head, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Department. Fortis Chemicals Private Limited collaborated in the exhibition.
Developed after nearly ten years of research, this ‘Make in India’ solvent-free, environmentally friendly and cost-effective technology has been successfully tested at the laboratory and field levels. It can be used as a ready-made ‘one-pack’ material or by mixing two components on site, depending on local requirements. This feature makes it very useful in emergency and routine road maintenance work.
This successful demonstration has once again demonstrated the continuous efforts of CSIR-CRRI in the field of prevention and improved road maintenance through indigenous technology.
