BHUBANESWAR:Today, a Pension and GPF Court was held by the Odisha Police at the 7th Battalion premises in Bhubaneswar in coordination with the Accountant General, Odisha, Bhubaneswar and Odisha Police Headquarters. Various complaints related to pension of retired police personnel of Cuttack and Khordha district police departments were heard in this court.

This court heard various complaints related to gratuity, GPF, family pension and other financial issues that had been pending for a long time on a priority basis.
Shri Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi, Additional Director General of Police (Modernisation) inaugurated the programme and said that this is the first time that this Pension Court has been organized for the Odisha Police personnel. He said that this step will be considered as a milestone for the welfare of the pension beneficiaries. He also appreciated the efforts of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Odisha office.
A total of 68 pensioners/family pensioners appeared in this court and presented their grievances and problems. All the cases were thoroughly examined and steps were taken to resolve them. Along with this, 16 Pension Payment Order (PPO)/ Gratuity Payment Order (GPO)/ GPF Information Letters were distributed to the beneficiaries by Additional Director General of Police Shri Priyadarshi and Shri Swami Shubham Baijnath, IA&AS, Deputy Accountant General, AG (A&E), Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
In this court, Smt. Mamata Mallick (Financial Advisor, State Police Headquarters), Shri Saroj Kumar Naik, Finance Officer, State Police Headquarters, Cuttack and Senior Accounts Officers of the A.G. Office Shri Sarat Kumar Mahapatra, Shri Vishwas Kumar Sinha and Ravi Kumar along with other senior police officers were present and directly heard the grievances of the pensioners and gave necessary orders for their resolution.
Odisha Police has made this innovative effort to ensure that former employees of Odisha Police do not have to visit the office repeatedly to get justice. The main objective of this court is to show respect and service attitude towards the pensioners.
