Odisha cadre IAS Officer Dr Krishan Kumar takes over charge as Managing Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: The Haryana’s Rohtak born 2002 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer,  Dr Krishan Kumar on Wednesday has taken over charge as Managing Director of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), a fully owned company of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India.

Shri Anshu Manish Khalkho, Director (A&F), NHIDCL welcomed Dr Krishan Kumar, as the new Managing Director of NHIDCL. With Dr Kumar’s vast experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects and expertise in disaster management, NHIDCL are confident that Dr Kumar will lead the CPSU towards new heights of success and growth.

Dr Kumar, who was earlier Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, was handling crucial sectors in Ministry of Commerce and coordinating G20 Trade & Investment Working Group (TIWG), joined as MD of NHIDCL, the Central PSU under the Ministry of  Road Transport and Highways today beginning  new innings with a new a Ministry.

During his Odisha tenure, Dr Kumar worked as Secretary Works, Smart City Chief of Bhubaneswar and Vice Chairman BDA,  Chief Administrator Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration, Chairman OBCC and CMD IDCO and he was one of the most efficient , committed and hardworking IAS officers in Odisha during his tenure in the State.

It may be noted here that NHIDCL promotes, surveys, establishes, designs, builds, operates, maintains and upgrades National Highways and Strategic Roads including interconnecting roads in parts of the country which share international boundaries with neighboring countries. The regional connectivity so enhanced would promote cross border trade and commerce and help safeguard India’s international borders.
