BHUBANESWAR/PURI:Keeping public safety and seamless crowd management at the forefront, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Central Range, Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS, conducted a high-level review meeting and physical inspection at the Alarnath Temple in Brahmagiri today.
The visit was explicitly aimed at assessing the combined preparedness of the local temple administration and the Brahmagiri Police Station ahead of the massive influx of devotees expected for the upcoming Anasara Darshan of Lord Mahaprabhu, which traditionally commences immediately after the Snana Purnima rituals. During the inspection, Dr. Naik reviewed the structural layout of entry and exit points, emergency evacuation routes, and dedicated parking zones designed to handle heavy vehicular traffic in and around Brahmagiri. He also held interactive discussions with senior officials of the temple trust, local sevayats (priests), and police officers to identify potential operational bottlenecks.
To ensure a smooth spiritual experience, the IG Central Range issued several key directives focusing heavily on strict crowd regulation and enhanced policing deployments. He ordered the implementation of systematic queue management barriers to prevent congestion inside the inner sanctum, alongside the strategic deployment of adequate static police personnel, mobile patrolling units, and plainclothes security officers to maintain a crime-free environment. Furthermore, Dr. Naik emphasized the need for close coordination with civil authorities to set up essential basic amenities, including clean drinking water stations, shade over queue lines, and immediate first-aid medical booths to assist pilgrims dealing with summer weather conditions.
To prevent traffic gridlocks, specific outer ring parking lots have been demarcated to keep the main arterial roads to Brahmagiri completely hassle-free throughout the peak darshan days.
Concluding the review, Dr. Naik emphasized a people-centric approach to policing, instructing personnel on the ground to handle the high volume of incoming devotees with absolute patience, empathy, and vigilance. Both the temple administration and local police have assured complete readiness to cooperate and deliver a safe, secure, and spiritually uplifting environment for all visiting pilgrims.
