Dharmendra Pradhan-Baijayant Panda Condoles Sad Demies of Padma Bhushan Manoj Das

NEW DELHI/BHUBAANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and  BJP National VP In Charge of Delhi and Assam, Baijayant ‘Jay’Panda on Tuesday deeply condoled the death of Padma Bhushan Manoj Das.

“ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ, କଥାକାର ପଦ୍ମଭୂଷଣ ପ୍ରଫେସର ମନୋଜ ଦାସଙ୍କ ବିୟୋଗ ଖବର ଶୁଣି ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ ଓ ମର୍ମାହତ । ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଭାଷା, ଭାରତୀୟ ଓ ବିଦେଶୀ ଭାଷାରେ ତାଙ୍କର କାଳଜୟୀ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ପାଇଁ ସେ ଅନେକ ସମ୍ମାନର ଅଧିକାରୀ ହୋଇଥିଲେ ।ଶ୍ରୀ ଦାସଙ୍କ ବିୟୋଗରେ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ତଥା ଭାରତ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଜଗତରେ ଅପୂରଣୀୟ ଶୂନ୍ୟ ସ୍ଥାନ ତିଆରି ହୋଇଛି। ଶ୍ରୀ ଦାସଙ୍କ ପରିବାର ସଦସ୍ୟା ଡା. ରଞ୍ଜିତା ଦାସଙ୍କ ସହ ଫୋନରେ କଥା ହୋଇ ଗଭୀର ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଇବା ସହ ଅମର ଆତ୍ମାର ସଦଗତି କାମନା କଲି ।ପୁଡୁଚେରୀ ଉପରାଜ୍ୟପାଳ@DrTamilisaiGuvଜୀଙ୍କ ସହ ମଧ୍ୟ ଫୋନ୍ ଯୋଗେ କଥା ହୋଇ ସାରସ୍ୱତ ସାଧକ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗତ ଦାସଙ୍କୁ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରୀୟ ମର୍ଯ୍ୟାଦାର ସହ ଶେଷକୃତ୍ୟ ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କଲି ।,” Union  PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted @dpradhanbjp.

“The end of an era in the world of Oriya literature. I am very saddened and saddened to hear the news of the loss of Padma Bhushan Manoj Das, an eminent writer, columnist, Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award, Sharla Award and many other prestigious awards. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Oh peace,” the 4th times former MP Baijayant Panda tweeted@PandaJay.

Eminent Writer, Editor and Columnist Manoj Das breathed his last at a hospital in Puducherry on Tuesday.He was 87. Mr.Das had been under treatment at the nursing home at Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry due to old-age related ailments and breathed his last at 8.15 PM today, family sources said.

Born on February 27, 1934 in Shankari village in Balasore district, Mr.Das had carved a niche for himself in the field of literature over the past several decades. He wrote many short stories, novels and poems which have been highly appreciated by readers across the globe.

‘The Escapist’, ‘Tandralokara Prahari’, ‘Aakashra Isara’, ‘Amruta Phala’, ‘A Tiger at Twilight’, ‘Bulldozers and Fables and Fantasies for Adults’, ‘Cyclones’, ‘Godhulira Bagha’, ‘Kanaka-Upatyakara Kahani’ and ‘Sesha Tantrikara Sandhanare’ are some of the highly-appreciated works of the legendary writer.

He was honoured with the prestigious civilian award Padma Shri in 2001 and Padma Bhushan this year for his pioneering work in literature.He was also awarded with Saraswati Samman, and Kendra Sahitya Akademi Fellowship.

Das, the bilingual Odia writer, edited The Heritage, published from Chennai in 1985-1989. He wrote columns in The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Hindu and The Statesman as well.

Mr.Das had been an inmate of Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry since 1963. He was teaching English Literature and the Philosophy of Sri Aurobindo at the Sri Aurobindo International University.
