SAMBALPUR: Former International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Late Ashok Singhal Ji, who spearheaded the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement, was the leading commander of Sanatan Samaj. Without him, the dream of a magnificent Ram temple would not have been realized, said Sambalpur MP and former Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
Shri Pradhan said that Ashok Singhal ji’s life was dedicated to the cause. His main goal was not only to build temples, but to make the entire nation united, organized, proud and courageous in the name of building temples. When the rulers of Uttar Pradesh were showing arrogance like ‘Parinda Bhi Para Mar Nahin Sakta’, then Ashok Singhal ji himself took a stick on his head and shed blood to inspire the youth.
Recalling an old personal experience of his, he said that during Atal Ji’s government, Ashok Singhal Ji, without considering his honor, dignity, reputation and position, used to humbly appeal to the then Union Power Minister to oppose the construction of hydro projects in Uttarakhand for fear of obstructing the flow of Ganga. For him, the interest of the society and the nation was everything.
Shri Pradhan said that Ashok Singhal Ji was not just an officer of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad or a Pracharak of RSS, but he was the driving force behind the entire Sanatan Samaj, who brought together all the saints, saints, sannyasis and Shankaracharya Peethas of India and created fear in the minds of anti-social elements. Even today, there are many challenges and conflicts before the Sanatan Samaj, Hindu civilization and society. In this enlightened society, remembering the words of the great man and building a strong and enlightened society based on his ideology would be a true tribute to him, said MP Shri Pradhan.
