BHUBANESWAR:All Odisha Truck Malika Mahasangha State President Puranjan Padhi said ‘Our organization expresses deep concern over the ongoing fuel crisis affecting both the country and the state. This situation is not solely a result of international developments, but also partly due to man-made management failures and gaps in market regulation,”
He said it is true that instability in the Strait of Hormuz—a critical global oil route—has impacted worldwide fuel supply. However, at the local level, mismanagement in fuel distribution and stock handling has further aggravated the situation.
Based on the information reaching us:
In some areas, fuel is available but supply has been deliberately restricted.
Unequal distribution among dealers has been observed.Disruptions in billing and lifting processes have created bottlenecks.Panic buying has increased due to rumors and fear among the public.
All these factors combined have led to an artificial scarcity in the market, causing serious inconvenience to the general public.
Our Demands:
1. Ensure complete transparency in the fuel supply system
2. Guarantee equal distribution of fuel to all dealers
3. Take immediate action against rumors and black marketing
4. Provide prior and clear communication regarding any price hikes
“We urge the government and concerned oil companies to prioritize public interest and take immediate as well as long-term measures to resolve this crisis,’ he said
He added “The solution to the fuel crisis lies not just in increasing supply,
but in making the system honest and transparent.”
