BHUBANESWAR:The worries of women and children who are not getting maintenance from their husbands despite the court’s orders have been removed. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has taken a strict approach against such male government employees.
It is worth noting that many male employees of the state government are not providing maintenance support to their wives or children. They are also not paying Alimony related to divorce. Despite hearings in various courts for this, and clear orders from the court, male employees are neglecting to provide this maintenance.
On an average, 2-3 cases come to the complaints room during the hearing of each complaint of the Chief Minister. Therefore, the Chief Minister has taken a strict approach on this and has ordered to deduct this amount from the salary of the concerned employees. The Chief Minister has said that it is completely unacceptable for the state government to disobey the court and treat the wife and children in such a manner as well.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the state government has issued new instructions for the maintenance of the concerned women and children. According to this directive, after receiving the court’s order for payment of Alimony, the departmental officer, while preparing the monthly salary bill of the concerned government employee, will deduct the amount fixed by the court for Alimony from the salary and deposit it directly electronically in the bank account of the wife or child of the concerned employee. In the coming days, the Chief Minister has also directed to further improve this system by integrating the matters related to Alimony ordered by the court into the integrated and automated system of the state government.
