KENDRAPARA/BHUBANESWAR:   Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated 21 new bus stands in 13 districts of the state under ‘Ama Bus stand Yojana’. Aul Bus stand in Kendrapara was among 21 new bus stands, which were inaugurated. Minister Pratap Deb attended the function at Aul while CM Patnaik addressed through VC.

Along with this, the foundation has also been laid for the construction of 124 block-level bus stands in 26 districts. Describing it as a new milestone in the transport sector, the Chief Minister two crore people will benefit once these bus stands are completed.

Patnaik said that all these bus stands are modern and smart bus stands with facilities available for passengers, drivers and others.

The Chief Minister launched ‘Mo Parivahan Seva’ and mobile app saying that there will be no need to go to government offices for various transport services. To make drivers more efficient in driving, the Chief Minister launched the Su-Vahaka Yojana.

As many as 50,000 drivers will be trained under this scheme. Patnaik inaugurated a driving training center at Palur in Ganjam. He advised to give utmost importance to the safety of road and passengers.

The Chief Minister said that a good transport system paves the way for a better economy. Various institutional services and facilities like schools, colleges, hospitals etc. can be easily available.

It works as a catalyst towards building a dynamic social and economic society. The CM advised the Transport Department to continue efforts to provide better transport services to the people.

On this occasion, Commerce and Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu said that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the trend of good governance has been uninterrupted in the state for the last 23 years. She said that efforts are made to develop road transport as well as railway and air transport in the state.
