BHUBANESWAR:Every thread and colour of India hides the tireless work of our artisans and the age-old tradition. They are not just artisans, but the true bearers of India’s rich culture and heritage, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while inaugurating a special exhibition on handlooms and handicrafts of Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Assam at the National Crafts Museum in New Delhi today.
The main theme of this exhibition organized by RSB Foundation was ‘Krishna’. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan said that this event is a reflection of India’s ‘unity in diversity’. This special exhibition organized at the National Crafts Museum is a powerful way to honor the extraordinary artwork of our weavers and artisans and give them a new identity in the global market. On this occasion, Shri Pradhan praised the perseverance and art of the Sambalpuri and Ikat weavers of Odisha.
Shri Pradhan said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conceived the Purvoday Mission for the development of Eastern India, which is a groundbreaking initiative. Only with the development of Eastern India will the entire India develop. Similarly, in the current era, he emphasized on the need to further integrate this craft into the e-commerce platform. He said that by 2047, a developed India will be created where our weavers can directly connect with the global market through e-commerce and ONDC platforms. He appealed to the people to use indigenous goods.
