BHUBANESWAR:The anti-corruption awareness campaign organized by Odisha Right to Information Campaign (OSA) received widespread support from the common people in Khurda city today. The campaign is organized with the aim of creating public awareness against corruption, transparency in government systems, accountability and strengthening the right to information of the people.
OSA is peacefully organizing this awareness program from October 5 to October 9, 2026 in various districts of the state, including district collector’s offices, block headquarters, and other prominent places.
In this regard, today, OSAR workers and members made the public aware about corruption, administrative accountability and transparency in government work at the Khurda District Collector’s office premises, courts, markets, bus stands and other important places in the city. On this occasion, various questions, complaints and public discussion topics related to the activities of the previous and current governments were put before the people. Along with this, awareness leaflets were distributed.
During the campaign, the workers interacted with citizens and residents from different sections of the city of Khordha. Many citizens welcomed such public awareness initiatives against corruption and expressed their views on the need for more transparency and accountability in the government system.
On this occasion, senior social and RTI activist Shri Prakash Das raised various questions and grievances regarding the two and a half years of BJP government’s rule. He especially raised the need for transparency, investigation and accountability regarding the steps taken by the current government on various grievances and issues raised during the rule of the former BJD government.
Shri Das said that corruption, whether it is related to any government or political party, must be ensured through impartial investigation, public disclosure of information and accountability as per the law. He expressed his view that it is very important in a democracy for the people to have true and evidence-based information about the use of public money, government resources and administrative system.
OSA said that the fight against corruption is not just a campaign against political parties; it is a people’s movement for transparency, good governance, accountability and protection of civil rights. Such campaigns will continue in the coming days to bring transparency in government work and to make the public aware of their rights by using the Right to Information Act.
The statewide campaign will involve the distribution of around 30,000 awareness leaflets and will urge the public in various districts and block levels to raise their voices against corruption, make proper use of the Right to Information, and demand accountability in the government system.
OSA has clarified that this campaign will continue in a peaceful, democratic and evidence-based manner. This fight against corruption, incompetence and lack of accountability will be intensified in the coming days, not against the government or any political party.
