BHUBANESWAR: Chief Secretary Anu Garg and DGP YB Khurania are representing the Government of Odisha in the UPSC.
Why is Chief Secretary Anu Garg part of a design to deprive IPS Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi of his legitimate dues? Why is she misleading the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. This a big question now.
Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi is a knowledgeable person. Not amenable to whims and fancies. She can’t match the calibre and articulation of IPS Sarangi and shall be clearly overshadowed in the meetings. He is straightforward and not a psychopath.
Sources said “ Once he finds a name in the list with Sushant Nath and RP Koche, it will be difficult not to select him. But when Sanjeeb Panda is there, the ‘Odia Asmita’ question will be taken care of.
Sources said Dr Sarangi, is genuinely concerned about Odisha Police and the people of Odisha. He will not succumb to those in the ruling establishment who place their self-interests above the interests of the Odia people,”. They said “ The Advisor and the company will be happy,”
Why is DGP Khurania part of such a design?
This incompetent officer, though not eligible for the post of HoPF was selected through an opaque process by circumventing the rules. He has no hesitation in stealing the legitimate rights of others.
Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi’s performance shall prove that Khurania’s performance demoralised the police, increased corruption and created law and order problems. By pleasing the Advisor he shall get some post-retirement post which will keep his engine oiled.
Meanwhile, on the case moved to the Supreme Court regarding the Odisha DGP selection, BJD MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo said, “For the first time, the people have witnessed a very peculiar situation. The state government is unable to take a decision on which name should be recommended to the UPSC. Because, as per the guidelines and the direction of the Supreme Court, a tradition has been started. UPSC will recommend three names, and the state government will choose one name out of the three names recommended by the UPSC… The case has gone to the Supreme Court, the Apex Court. And the Apex Court will take a call,”
On the case moved to the Supreme Court regarding the Odisha DGP selection, Vice President of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, Santosh Singh Saluja said, “The state of Odisha is functioning in a peculiar manner. The government is failing to fill various positions—whether they are constitutional posts, positions in corporations, cabinet berths, or other key roles. Consider the fact that the government has been in office for over two years, yet it has still not managed to appoint a Lokayukta. The government had assured the High Court that the Lokayukta appointment would be made within six months; that deadline passed months ago, and the matter has now escalated to the Supreme Court. There is also the issue of the DGP appointment; the Odisha government has been delaying this process… The government is failing to fill any of these positions—ranging from corporate roles and cabinet posts to the Lokayukta and DGP…”
