BHUBANESWAR:There was widespread corruption in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA). With the aim of reforming this, the Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission Grameen (VB-G RAM G) Bill 2025, developed under the leadership of the eminent Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has been enacted into law. The VB-G RAM G Bill will bring about a change in the lives of the poor, farmers, labourers, unemployed youth living in the rural areas of the entire country, said Kisan Morcha National President Shri Rajkumar Chahar at the ‘VBGRM’ public awareness and state-level workshop held at the state office.

Shri Chahar said that earlier, there was a guarantee of employment for only 100 days in MRN. But many times, 100 days of work was not available. The poor and working class people were facing a lot of problems by getting only 40 to 50 days of work. Now, in the ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ scheme, the employment period has been increased from 100 days to 125 days. It has been clarified that a family in rural areas is now entitled to 125 days of employment. During the previous government, only holes were dug in the villages in the name of the project and the holes were filled. But Modiji’s government has decided to strengthen the infrastructure of basic development of the villages and build developed villages, because only a developed village can build a developed nation. As a result, the goal of building a developed India by 2047 can be achieved. Now, the work of complete development of villages can be done through ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’. The new scheme will provide various types of work in the village, starting from roads to bridges, water conservation, toilets in schools, and a crop market for farmers. For this, the entire village, starting from the village sarpanch, will jointly prepare a plan for the project. Then the project will be implemented by the workers of the said village.
This will help the villages move forward towards development. The new scheme will help in increasing various products in the village. For this, the Central Government will bear 60 percent of the cost and the State Government will bear 40 percent of the cost. For the North-Eastern States, this ratio was 90:10, while for the Union Territories, the Central Government will bear 100 percent of the cost.
This scheme will increase coordination between the Center and the State. This work can be brought to a standstill through AI, GPS and mobile. The importance of the new scheme has been emphasized so that the real beneficiaries can get work in their villages. The opposition parties have been campaigning all over the country on the ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ law for political purposes. But they will not get any benefit from it. The people of the rural areas have already made up their minds to build a developed village under the new scheme. In the coming days, district-level and mandal-level agricultural and labor conferences will be organized regarding this scheme and public awareness will be created about the benefits of this scheme by going door to door.
State President Shri Manmohan Samal said that ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ has undergone radical changes and brought about cleanliness. It has made provisions on how to work with transparency and how the scheme can be implemented in the public interest. The errors and omissions in the scheme have been corrected and new laws have been enacted. Many laws were implemented in the country earlier too. But they were never implemented properly. Under Modiji’s leadership, more than 25 crore people have come out of the poverty line in the last 12 years. ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ has emphasized on providing employment opportunities to the common people. Arrangements have been made to provide allowance if work is not found within 15 days of requesting for work.
As a result, the real beneficiaries will get guaranteed employment. With sufficient awareness and public awareness, this scheme can become a milestone in the coming days. The Congress government was in power for 56 years. At that time, it implemented many schemes and only embezzled money. In all these schemes, only Rs 10 out of Rs 100 reached the people. The rest of the money was being diverted. But in ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’, arrangements have been made to provide jobs in their villages for the poor, common taxpayers, upliftment of the lower caste people and employment opportunities for the unemployed. The new scheme has provisions to ensure that the money of the poor reaches the poor. The main purpose of this workshop is to spread the word widely so that people can take advantage of this scheme. ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ scheme will provide jobs to the common people.
This scheme will play a major role in building a developed India. The government does not have a shortage of money, only the system for implementation will be changed. In this, 5 arrangements have been made, starting from digital to geo-tagging. Everyone is aware of how the BJD and Congress governments used to divert people’s money. Therefore, awareness programs should be held in every village to make people aware of the scheme. To make people aware of how the government is working with dedication. Shi Samal said that all work can be accomplished through determination and self-confidence.
Kisan Morcha State President Shri Subhransu Mohan Padhi said that the previous government only cheated the farmers. But the BJP government is working for the overall upliftment of the farmers. ‘VB Ji Ram Ji’ scheme will make the farmers financially stronger. It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that the real beneficiaries benefit from this scheme.
Among others, MP Shri Balabhadra Majhi, MLA Amar Nayak, State Vice President Shri Shivaji Mohanty and State General Secretary Shri Sharda Prasad Satpathy along with state officials and all district coordinators of the Kisan Morcha were present.
