KOLKATA/NEW DELHI:As BJP’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal are in full swing, Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today visited Matji and Haldia, interacted with party workers and campaigned for party candidates.

Shri Pradhan was addressing a huge public meeting in Haldia ahead of the nomination of the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Shri Subhendu Nirbhaya. He strongly criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government and said that the youth in the state are unemployed, women’s safety is in danger and farmers are struggling for their rights. TMC has no development issues to tell the people. Nandigram is a symbol of change and this land will make history again. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the concept of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ will be realized in Bengal. West Bengal will be corruption-free under the BJP government. While the concept of change is now the voice of the people, a ‘double engine’ government is needed for the development of Bengal, Shri Pradhan said.

Earlier, Shri Pradhan had attended an important meeting with migrant workers of Matji Lok Sabha constituency. On this occasion, he said that it has been suggested to strengthen the organization at the booth level to win the elections. He called on the workers to convey the failure of the government and the welfare schemes of the Centre to the people. The meeting was attended by Uttar Pradesh Minister Shri J.P.S. Rathore and Matji MP Shri Saumendu Nirikh.
