SAMBALPUR:On the occasion of the holy Mahavishub Sankranti and Odia New Year and the birth anniversary of the founder of the Constitution, Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has given a big development gift to the Kuchinda, Bamara and Jamankira areas of Sambalpur district. During his visit to the area, Shri Pradhan dedicated and laid the foundation stone of 78 development projects worth about Rs. 375 crore 36 lakh and handed over government schemes to the beneficiaries.
Attending separate programmes at Kuchinda and Bamra, Shri Pradhan inaugurated 39 projects worth Rs 108.33 crore and laid the foundation stone of 39 projects worth Rs 267.3 crore. Laying the foundation stone of a new sub-district hospital building at Kuchinda, Shri Pradhan said that this state-of-the-art 100-bed hospital and specialized trauma care centre to be built at a cost of about Rs 53 crore will strengthen the emergency healthcare services in the region. In addition, two multi-purpose welfare pavilions at Kuchinda Yatra Podia and Kundaposhi at a cost of Rs 5.14 crore were inaugurated and the foundation stone of the new office of Kuchinda Notified Area Council at a cost of Rs 6 crore was laid. The new community centre dedicated to the public will be very helpful for various social activities of the poor and common people of the region such as brataghars and marriages.
Shri Pradhan said that the double engine government is committed to providing all-round development, green development and improved citizen services to Kuchinda sub-district. The projects dedicated and foundation stone laid today will strengthen the connectivity of Kuchinda sub-district and strengthen the rural economy. Especially, the launch of new sanitation vehicles to keep Bamra city clean and beautiful will make urban life more convenient. Health, education and transportation along with other social infrastructure will bring a positive change in the lifestyle of the local people. He said that our goal is to build a beautiful and healthy Kuchinda with the cooperation of every citizen of Kuchinda.
The mantra of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, is today fulfilling the dream of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Improving education, health and infrastructure in tribal-dominated areas like Kuchinda has become the priority of our double engine government. We aim to provide clean drinking water through pipes to every household and to provide water to the farmland through the ‘Parvati Giri Irrigation Project’. Efforts are underway to construct a railway overbridge at Bamra along with an underpass for the market area in the coming days. Shri Pradhan has called for collective efforts to increase the income of the farmer brothers by promoting the ‘Lanka Chash’ of Kuchinda on a commercial basis.
The Union Minister further said, to build a developed Odisha and a developed India, the cooperation and empowerment of our mothers is essential. Therefore, our government has made the provision of the ‘Nari Shakti Bandhan Act’ to respect women’s power and bring mothers into the mainstream of society. Under this historic act, 33 percent reservation has been made for mothers in the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha, which will give the power to include mothers in key decisions of governance and administration. He said that the ‘Lakshapati Didi’ scheme is giving mothers a new identity today by making them financially self-reliant.
During this visit, Shri Pradhan Kuchinda paid homage to Babasaheb’s statue at Ambedkar Chack in Ramjipada and visited Shri Jagannath Temple, Hanuman Temple in Bamra Govindpur and Maa Banadurga Temple in Marumbibahal and wished everyone happiness and prosperity. He also participated in the Nama Yagya organized in Govindpur. During this visit, he met Sri Lankan farmers Gagan Babu and Surma Sisters and appreciated their hard work.
