NEW DELHI:The success of every child is our responsibility, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while presiding over a two-day conference of Education Ministers of States and Union Territories organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, at the ICAR-Nasak campus in New Delhi today.
In his address, Shri Pradhan emphasised that the Centre and the States are equal partners in strengthening school education. The conference provides an important platform for the Centre, States and Union Territories to accelerate the successful implementation of central schemes as envisaged in the National Education Policy, enhance collaboration and exchange best practices. He said that this interaction will further strengthen our collective commitment towards building a future-proof, inclusive and high-quality school education system and will contribute to the upcoming PRAGATI review to be chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Shri Pradhan highlighted the progress made in school education through initiatives like Sarvaj Shiksha, PM Shri, Skilled India, PM Posham and Jahannam. He called upon the States and Union Territories to work together to strengthen basic literacy and numeracy, empower teachers, use technology and AI, promote innovation and ensure the holistic development of every student towards achieving the goals of ‘Developed India 2047’. The Minister advised the States to promote mother tongue and multilingual education of children to strengthen basic education and improve educational outcomes.
At the event, Minister of State for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Chowdhury, stressed on the need for a collaborative effort between the Centre, States and Union Territories to strengthen school education and improve educational outcomes. Senior officials from the Union Education Ministry and the States participated in the event.
