SAMBALPUR: Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the “Swargat Suresh Seth Memorial Sambalpur Kabaddi Premier League (Season-3)” organized at the Town Hall area of Sambalpur as the chief guest.
On this occasion, Shri Pradhan said that Sambalpur district has a rich tradition of Kabaddi along with football, hockey, cricket and swimming. 12 teams are participating in this league match. Sports have been considered as a part of education in the National Education Policy. In this context, this effort, organized by the joint initiative of Sambalpur Kabaddi Club and Sambalpur Boys, will be helpful in instilling a sportsmanship spirit among the youth.
On the other hand, the state government has planned to build a modern Kabaddi stadium in Sambalpur. Collective efforts will be made to organize a national level Kabaddi tournament in Sambalpur once again. Shri Pradhan has promised to take the necessary cooperation and responsibility for this.
The Minister congratulated all the players who participated in the competition and emphasized the overall development of sports.
