ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR:Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday attended the ‘Bantan Mela’ program organized by the Angul District Police Administration, terming it a commendable and welcome step towards serving the people.
On this occasion, he said, through this program, lost or stolen mobile phones and bikes have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners with dignity. The Minister Shri Pradhan highly appreciated this sincere effort of the police administration in returning the lost belongings of the public and bringing smiles on their faces. Also, the issuance of special identity cards for the benefit of senior citizens proves the sensitivity of the police.
Shri Pradhan said that the country’s judicial system has undergone a major transformation and the successful implementation of the ‘Indian Code of Justice’ is now being done away with the patriarchal mentality. After many decades, this new law based on Indian judicial values has made the rule of law even stronger and more people-oriented. Angul District Police has set a model example by not only controlling crime but also by maintaining a balance between implementing new laws and maintaining social responsibility. The Union Minister said that such positive work of the police administration will further strengthen the sense of security and trust in the minds of the common people.
Dhenkanal MP Shri Rudra Narayan Pani, Angul MLA Shri Pratap Chandra Pradhan and Chendipada MLA Shri Agasti Behera along with senior officers of the district police administration attended the event.
