DEOGARH/SAMBALPUR: While the Matrashaktis all over India are supporting the ‘Nari Shakti Bandhan Act’, the opposition does not want more seats for women. This attitude of the opposition is creating obstacles in the path of development of Nari Shakti, said Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of various development projects in Deogarh today.

Shri Pradhan today visited the district and dedicated and laid the foundation stone of 124 different projects at a cost of about Rs. 280 crore. Along with this, he transferred the benefits of various government schemes to the eligible beneficiaries. On this occasion, he said that the historic ‘Nari Shakti Vandana Act’ introduced by the Honorable Prime Minister is a landmark step in the field of women’s protection.

This will increase the number of seats for mothers in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly, which will create maximum women representatives in Odisha and empower them in the decision-making process. The enthusiasm among mothers and sisters to implement this scheme is commendable. But unfortunately, many opposition parties and the leader of the opposition party in Odisha, Naveen Babu, do not want the number of seats for women to increase. He said that while Modi ji has promised to increase the seats for women, the people of Deogarh have full support in this.

Giving information about the projects, Shri Pradhan said that 63 projects worth Rs. 130.79 crore were dedicated to the public today, while the foundation stone of 61 projects worth Rs. 147.70 crore was laid. The permanent building of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Deogarh, built at a cost of about Rs. 31.40 crore, was dedicated to the people of the district today. It is a big achievement that this magnificent building was established in just two years, as its ground breaking was held on January 13, 2024. Built on a land of 9.22 acres, this school has 45 rooms, including 24 smart classrooms, 3 modern science laboratories and 2 computer labs.

More than 1000 students will get high-quality education through this school. ‘Double Section’ is going to be started from class I to V from the current academic year and there are plans to expand it up to class XII in the coming days. Along with this, ‘Combined Urban Hostel’ was inaugurated in the Deogarh College campus. This will particularly benefit students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes. He said that these projects will prove to be an important milestone in strengthening the social and economic infrastructure of Deogarh in the coming days.

The main goal of all of us is to develop Deogarh as an economically prosperous region through the ‘Sahkarru Samrudhi’ scheme of the Government of India and to improve the living standards of about one lakh families living here. To achieve this goal, special emphasis is being given to agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and proper utilization of forest products. Along with this, basic sectors like irrigation, education and health are being given top priority. The development process is being accelerated based on direct dialogue with the people and their valuable suggestions. The double engine government under the leadership of the Prime Minister is committed to expeditiously resolve various problems of the people. Shri Pradhan has called for collective efforts for the progress of Deogarh district and the welfare of its citizens.

Odisha’s Minister for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development and Drinking Water, Shri Rabi Narayan Naik, and local Deogarh MLA Shri Romanch Ranjan Biswal were prominently present at the event.
