BHUBANESWAR: On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of STF, BBSR with the help of Cuttack District Police near Ansupa Lake under Banki Police Station on 03.12.2022 evening against illegal dealing/possession of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended two drug peddlers namely 1) Jumesh Kumar Sahoo S/o. Bansidhar Sahoo of village Koshala PS. Chendipada Dist. Angul and 2) Hemant Kumar Pradhan S/o. Sarat Pradhan of village Badabhumi PS. Athagarh Dist. Cuttack.
During search contraband brown sugar weighing more than 01 Kg 335 gram (1335 gm), One Hyundai Santro Car and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused persons were arrested and will be forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge, Cuttack. In this connection STF PS Case No.29 dated 03.12.2022 U/s 21(c)/29 of NDPS Act 1985 was registered. Investigation is on.
Special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has seized more than 65 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 111 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 165 drug dealers/peddlers.
