BHUBANESWAR: On Sunday , Sri Alok Kumar Behera, Inspector-In-Charge(IIC), Sindhekela Police limits of Bolangir has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.25,000/- from a Complainant to help him in a case.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No.41/22 u/s 7 PC Amendment Act ,2018 has been registered. Investigation in progress.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 04.12.2022, wherein the accused Sri Alok Kuamr Behera, IIC was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in his office chamber while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty-five Thousand) from the complainant.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Behera, IIC and seized in presence of witnesses. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential Govt. quarter of Sri Behera at Sindhekela PS premises, Bolangir, parental house at village Awalpur, PS-Oltapur, Dist-Cuttack and his office room at Sindhekela Police Station.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.41 dated 03.12.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
