BHUBANESWAR: For collective and overall development, transportation and a strong foundation are essential. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been working with commitment for the overall and balanced development of Odisha by giving priority to the Purbadyoya Mission. Development in the state was hampered due to the stability of the previous government. Currently, the BJP’s double engine government in the state and the bottlenecks that are hindering development are being identified and the development trend is being accelerated by solving the problems.
In this regard, the Union Cabinet meeting held in New Delhi today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given approval for the construction of the Coastal Highway from Rameshwar in Khorda district to Paradiveep via Konark in the first phase under the National Highway (NH-90) in the state. 163,180 km of sub-coastal highways in Odisha will be constructed in two packages at a cost of Rs 8300.79 crore through Hybrid Annuity.
This will improve the transportation system in Khurda, Puri, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur districts and will boost the social and economic development of the region. The construction of this sub-coastal highway will give a new dimension to the economy, tourism, trade and industry of the state and will also create new employment. On behalf of the people of Odisha, State President and MP Shri Manmohan Samal expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Union Government for the special attention of the Union Government towards the development of Odisha.
