BHUBANESWAR:The state executive meeting of the State BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha was held today at the state office. Informing about the meeting, BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha State President Shri Kandra Soren said that the Scheduled Tribes of Odisha have earned fame all over the country for their heritage and culture. The main occupation of the tribals is agriculture and forest produce.

To improve the economic situation of the tribals, the MSP has been increased to sell minor forest produce at a reasonable price. The executive committee expressed gratitude for the welfare schemes implemented by the Central Government under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the State Government under the leadership of the popular Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi for the tribal sector.

The executive committee expressed its heartfelt gratitude for the historic decision taken by the state government yesterday to increase the reservation for the most prominent tribals from 12 percent to 22.50 percent in technical and vocational education like medical and engineering education. The Executive Committee welcomed the decision to implement the ‘Gram Panchayat Expansion Act (PESA)-1996’ Act.

The Executive Committee welcomed the decision of the State Government to provide Rs. 50 lakhs for the construction of Tribal Cultural Houses in 121 blocks of the State under ITDA. The State Government is providing Rs. 1 lakh to tribal families under the Chief Minister’s Tribal Livelihood Mission Scheme. Similarly, on the occasion of the completion of 12 years of the BJP government at the Centre and 2 years in the State, the Executive Committee resolved to reach out to the people with the services of both the Governments. The Central and State Governments are working towards the development of the tribals of the country. Both the Central and State Governments are committed to protecting their rights, said Shri Soren.

On this occasion, State President Shri Manmohan Samal said that BJP is a nationalist activist-based party. Today, BJP-led governments are in power in 22 states of the country due to the spiritual connection that has been established through work. Due to the spiritual, living and family connection with the people of our organization, we have been able to reach the progress of development to the lowest people of the society. Our main goal is to reach the people with various tribal welfare schemes of both the central and state governments. State President Shri Samal said that BJP is always committed to the development of the tribal society. State General Secretary (Organization) Shri Manas Kumar Mohanty said that the party will work with Nishtar by strengthening the grassroots level for the development of the tribals.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parvathi Parida, Ministers Shri Ravi Narayan Nayak, Shri Nityanand Gand, E. Ganesh Ramsingh Khuntia, Member of Parliament Shri Ananta Nayak, Morcha National General Secretary Shri Kaliram Majhi, State Deputy Leader Kusum Tete, State Secretary Purnima Naik, Senior Leader Ms. Sukeshi Oram were prominently present and discussed.
The Morcha’s Vice Presidents Fagu Hansda, Hrishikesh Dehuri, General Secretaries Dhruv Kalo, Gangaram Soreng, Editors Arjun Kisco, Anupama Nayak, Midiya Tudu, along with BJP MLAs, former MLAs, MLA candidates representing Scheduled Tribes, all the Morcha’s officers, executive members, Special Development Council Chairman and Vice President were present at the function.
