BHUBANESWAR:Legendary Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92. Over a career spanning over 70 years, Bhosle left a mark on the hearts of music lovers by singing thousands of songs in many languages. She won the hearts of people not only in the fields of film music but also in the fields of classical music, modern pop, ghazals and folk songs.
For her outstanding contribution to the field of music, Bhosle was awarded the Filmfare Award twice and was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and India’s second highest civilian award ‘Padma Vibhushan’. State President Manmohan Samal expressed deep grief and said that her demise has caused an irreparable loss to the world of music.
State President Shri Samal prayed to Lord Jagannath to grant infinite patience to the departed soul of Bhosle and extend his condolences to his bereaved family and friends.
