BHUBANESWAR:The Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar, in its continued drive against illegal narcotics trafficking, has successfully apprehended a cannabis trafficker and seized a huge quantity of contraband.
Acting on reliable input received by STF regarding transportation of contraband cannabis, a team of STF officers conducted a raid near Maa Banadurga Temple under Kansar Police Station, District Dhenkanal on 24.04.2026. During the operation, one accused person was apprehended and contraband cannabis was seized.
The details are as follows:
1. Details of Accused:
* Lipu Naik, aged about 28 years
S/o: Sanatan Naik
At: Cheptigadia
PO: Kansara
PS: Hindol
Has Dist: Dhenkanal
2. Articles Seized:
* Contraband cannabis (ganja): 154 Kg 380 grams (net weight)
* One Mahindra XUV 500 FWD vehicle bearing Registration No. OD-05-N-7757
* One Vivo T4x 5G mobile handset (with SIM)
In this connection, STF P.S. Case No. 09 dated 25.04.2026 has been registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The accused has been arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Court on 25.04.2026. Investigation is underway to unearth the entire network involved in the illegal trade.
The STF reiterates its commitment towards strict enforcement against drug trafficking and appeals to the public to cooperate in maintaining a drug-free society.
