BHUBANESWAR:After returning to Bhubaneswar after completing his two-day important visit to New Delhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi gave detailed information to the media regarding the overall economic progress and industrialization of the state.
During this visit, he attended the high-level conference of state finance ministers chaired by the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister and presented a strong vision for the state on agriculture, clean energy and economic growth. He also paved a new path for the state’s development and industrialization by attracting large investments for Odisha in ‘Semicon India 2026’.
Semicon India 2026 has proposed an investment of around ₹23,600 crore for Odisha, which will create over 6,000 new direct employment opportunities.
A global semiconductor manufacturing hub ‘Odisha Silicon Valley’ will be established on an 870-acre land in Naraj, Cuttack.
A project worth Rs 452 crore has been approved in partnership with IIT Bhubaneswar under the theme ‘From Mine Economy to Mind Economy’, in which the state government will contribute Rs 125 crore.
The conference saw one-to-one discussions with 18 companies and letters of intent signed with three organizations, including QuadQuantum.
Fruitful discussions have been held with delegations from Japan, Sweden, Taiwan, and major global technology companies such as Intel, Applied Materials, and Lam Research.
The State Finance Ministers’ Conference has emphasized joint financing between the Center and the State for agricultural logistics, cold chain, and warehousing.
Emphasis has been placed on Viability Gap Funding (VGF) and multilateral partnerships in the energy infrastructure sector to move from conventional energy to clean energy.
