Save Mahanadi Movement reacts in the context of the tripartite meeting held in Delhi to resolve the Mahanadi water dispute and the message given by the Odisha Chief Minister on social media

The discussion between the Chief Ministers of Odisha and Chhattisgarh in the presence of the Union Minister of Water and Energy is welcome. The Chief Minister has assured that the water dispute will be resolved within three months and said that the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has agreed to a solution through amicable talks. (What was the argument before?)

But we want to know:-

1) What points were discussed and on what issues did Chhattisgarh agree?

2) Chhattisgarh has been demanding from the beginning to retain 27 million acre feet of water. Has the Odisha Chief Minister accepted its demand?

This claim of Chhattisgarh was a major reason for the Mahanadi water dispute. Chhattisgarh does not have such a large amount of water available in the Mahanadi basin. While it has only 24 million acre feet of water, Odisha has said that it is entitled to 10 million acre feet of water. Has the current government presented this previous claim in the discussion or not?

3) Has the Chief Minister of Ajmer opposed or accepted the illegal barrages, dams, anicuts, etc. river water projects that Chhattisgarh has constructed?

4) Odisha needs 1.64 million acre feet of water during the summer season. Has our Chief Minister made a demand to ensure that?

6) Chhattisgarh is not cooperating in water management for Hirakud reservoir and downstream flood control during floods. Even despite Odisha repeatedly requesting Chhattisgarh to construct a dam near Sardihi Barrage, Chhattisgarh is not giving N.O.C. or permission.
