BHUBANESWAR:Spiritualist poet and saint Guru Ravi Das was a great saint and poet, as well as a social reformer and follower of God. He constantly made efforts to remove untouchability, discrimination, casteism, discrimination, etc. from the society. He was a symbol of a society free from casteism from the 15th to 16th centuries. While walking on the spiritual and devotional path, saint Ravi Das emphasized on karma. At the call of the late Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the “Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samaras Sankalp Abhiyan” will be celebrated across the country from 29 July 2026 (Guru Purnima) to 20 February 2027 (Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Jayanti), on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj, said Scheduled Caste Morcha State President Shri Baidhar Malik at a press conference held at the state office.
At a press conference held at the state office, Shri Malik said that on the occasion of the launch of the ‘Samaras Sankalp Abhiyan’, a collective lamp was lit at the Shri Ram Temple in Bhubaneswar yesterday and lamps were lit in temples in every nook and corner of Odisha. The campaign has been launched from Kashi, the birthplace of Guru Ravidas ji. The holy remains have been collected in urns from Kashi, his birthplace, and sent to various states of the country. The delegation from Odisha will reach Bhubaneswar railway station tomorrow after bringing the holy urn.
After the urn containing the holy remains will be welcomed and taken to the Shri Ram Temple in a procession. Similarly, on August 9th, in a grand ceremony, 37 separate holy urns containing the holy remains will be distributed to the 37 organizational districts of the BJP through the workers. After this, in a grand ceremony in every district, this holy urn will be distributed to every mandal, from every mandal to every gram panchayat and from gram panchayat to every village. Trees will be planted wherever this holy urn will be kept and wherever it reaches. Shri Malik has appealed to everyone to cooperate in this program regardless of party, caste, creed.
Scheduled Caste Morcha President Shri Baidhar Malik has expressed his gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath for naming Bhadoi district, the birthplace of Sant Shiromani Guru Shri Ravi Das, after Sant Shiromani Guru Shri Ravi Das.
