BHUBANESWAR:Recovery of stolen ornaments in connection with Rail Madad Complain No- 2026052506844 on theft in Train No. 12880 (Mumbai LTT SF Express) on 25.05.2026 and FIR against four accused persons (Two male and two female) namely;

 Priya Devi, aged 26 years, W/o Hemraj Goswami, R/o Nayaktota, Chhotkilari, PS-Rajrappa, Ramgarh, Jharkhand-825101.
 Kumkum Kumari, aged 21 years, W/o Sarwan Kharwar, Mani Nagar, Ward No. 19, Dalmia Nagar, Rohtas, Bihar-821305.
Sarwan Kharwal, aged 22 years, Son of Maltu Kharwal, resident of Derionson, Post-Dania Nagar, PS-Deri, Dist-Rohtas, Bihar-821305, Mobile No. 7367965997.
 Hemraj Goswami, aged 24 years, Son of Kuldeep Goswami, resident of Nayaktota, Chhotkilari, PS-Rajrappa, Ramgarh, Jharkhand-825101, Mobile No. 6205835557
On 25.05.2026 at 13:21 hours a complaint was reported through Rail Madad Helpline No. 139 vide Reference No. 2026052506844 by passenger Shri Jagabandhu Dash, aged 39 years, son of Baidhar Dash, resident of Mousada, PS-Basnsada, District-Bhadrak, Odisha. He was traveling with his family members in Train No. 12880 (Mumbai LTT SF Express), Coach S-4, Berth Nos. 53 & 54, from Bhubaneswar to Thane.
The complainant reported that during boarding at Bhubaneswar Railway Station, gold & silver ornaments from his wife’s vanity bag were stolen. The stolen property comprised one gold necklace, three numbers of gold chain, one pair of gold earring, and four numbers of gold ring etc. & silver ornaments valued approximately Rs. 15,00,000. The property was last seen intact at 07:10 hrs when the train was at Bhubaneswar station and was noticed missing at 07:20 hrs after departure of train. Further the complainant also told that one lady wearing Mehendi colour saree is suspected for committing this theft. After receiving the report, Sri Apresh Behera, CI/CIB/RPF/KUR directed me to enquiry the matter and also informed to GRP/Bhubaneswar for recovery the stolen articles. Then we formed a team consisting of officer & staff of CIB/RPF/KUR, RPF Post/BBS and GRPS/BBS and proceeded for enquiry of the case. Then, we verified the CCTV footage and found that two numbers of suspected women and one of them wearing Mehendi colour saree, suspected to be from the Banjara community, entered Bhubaneswar station from Rangila gate side at 06:55 hours on 25.05.2026, purchased tickets from the ATVM counter, and boarded the same train on platform No. 01. As such, intensive & discreet checks were conducted at Bhubaneswar station and adjoining areas by CIB/KUR in coordination with RPF Post/Bhubaneswar, GRPS/Bhubaneswar.
On 27.05.2026, on the direction of SRP Cuttack, Bhawani Sankar Udgada and Sr.DSC Vevekananda Narayan 3 teams were formed and secret watch was being conducted by CIB/RPF/KUR team, BBS/STF team and GRPS/Bhubaneswar team at BBS Railway station from  06.30 hrs onwards. During the drive, two suspected women were noticed while boarding Train No. 12893 Puruna-katak Intercity Superfast at BBS station, so they were followed after departure of the train. En-route BBS to MCS station, their activities were found to be suspicious, but they deboarded at MCS station. Hence, we the above-mentioned officer and staff intervened them at MCS railway station at Platform No. 02. On interrogation, they disclosed their identities as follows
o Priya Devi, aged 26 years, W/o Hemraj Goswami, R/o Nayaktota, Chhotkilari, PS-Rajrappa, Ramgarh, Jharkhand-825101.
o Kumkum Kumari aged 21 years, W/o Sarwan Kharwar, Mani Nagar, Ward No. 19, Dalmia Nagar, Rohtas, Bihar-821305.
They further confessed that they have committed the theft of gold & silver ornaments on 25.05.2026 in Train No. 12880 in S-4 coach and the stolen ornaments were kept with their husband cum associates, namely; Sarwan Kharwal, aged 22 years, Son of Maltu Kharwal, resident of Derionson, Post-Dania Nagar, PS-Deri, Dist-Rohtas, Bihar-821305, Mobile No. 7367965997. Hemraj Goswami, aged 24 years, Son of Kuldeep Goswami, resident of Nayaktota, Chhotkilari, PS-Rajrappa, Ramgarh, Jharkhand-825101, Mobile No. 6205835557.
The two ladies namely Priya Devi & Kumkum Kumari also revealed that their husbands are also present at Unit-4, Bhubaneswar, in front of the Masjid. Accordingly, the teams with above two ladies proceeded to Unit-4 area of Bhubaneswar and search was conducted. At about 13:30 hours apprehend Sarwan Kharwal & Hemraj Goswami in front of Masjid area of Unit-4, Bhubaneswar. Upon interrogation, they confessed that Priya Devi & Kumkum Kumari had committed the theft of gold & silver ornaments on 25.05.2026 in the morning time and handed over the stolen property to them to sell in the market for their personal gain. On being demand, Sarwan Kharwal produced the stolen gold and silver ornaments and they begged apology for their offence. On, 27.05.2026, at 14:15 hours, I seized the following stolen ornaments in presence of witnesses.
 One necklace seems to be gold
 Three chains of different size & length, seems to be gold
 Two pair of gold earrings of different sizes and shape, seems to be gold
 Four finger rings of different size & shape, seems to be gold
 One melted yellow metal piece approx 10 gms, seems to be gold
 One nose rings, seems to be gold
 Two pairs of anklets of different size and shape, seems to be silver
 Two toe rings, seems to be silver
The four accused persons, namely Priya Devi, Kumkum Kumari, Sarwan Kharwal, and Hemraj Goswami, along with the seized ornaments as mentioned above, are hereby produced before the GRPS/Bhubaneswar for further legal action. As there is prima facie evidence against above four accused persons u/s 305(C)/317(2)/3(5) BNS, they have been arrested today i.e on 27.05.26 in GRPS case No-100 Dt. 27.05.26 and will be forwarded to the Hon’ble court tomorrow in the court of law.
