PURI/BHUBANESWAR:Like every day, today, on the twenty-third day, the workers building the three chariots arrived at the chariot yard before 8:00 a.m. and began the construction work under the guidance of the chief Maharana.
By yesterday, 31 wheels of three chariots had been completed. As of today, 32 wheels of the three chariots have been completed. By yesterday, 9 out of 14 wheels of the Taladhwaj Rath were completed, 10 out of 12 wheels of the Darpa Dalan Rath and 12 out of 16 wheels of the Nandighosha Rath were completed. Today, one wheel of the Nandighosha Rath was completed. The construction of five wheels of the Taladhwaj Rath, two wheels of the Darpa Dalan Rath and three wheels of the Nandighosha Rath is in progress. Except for one tumba of the Trirathas, the singada walling has been completed on the tumbas of the remaining three Raths.
In addition, the Maharana Sevaks are rapidly progressing the construction of the remaining parts of the chariots. If any problem is found in the wood provided for a specific part of the chariot, the Maharana Sevaks are cutting off a portion of the surplus wood and using it for other parts.
After completing the work of laying the four Muhants, four Niradis and 12 Bhuin Khambis of the three chariots, the work of laying the three chariots has begun. For the first chariot, the middle chariot, the charioteer of each chariot, Rath Amin Bhoi Sevak provided 20 feet of Asan wood through the servant. After completing the work of laying the four eight Bhuin Chauta wood, the Maharana Sevak of the three chariots has continued the work of laying the third chariot or Aag Bhuin Chauta wood.
In addition, the work of decorating the Jokas of the three chariots has reached the final stage to make them look beautiful.
The sculptors are continuing the work of carving the Nrusingha form on the three chariots’ shafts and polishing the completed forms.
