BHUBANESWAR:While the major developed countries of the world are today facing problems like severe economic hardship, social chaos and political instability, India’s economic, social progress and poor welfare programs are progressing at a rapid pace under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Modi. India has now become the fastest growing economy in the world and in many areas, under the challenge of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, it has taken a special place in the export sector all over the world.
Keeping pace with progress, Odisha has now created its new identity in the field of semiconductor hub, artificial intelligence, data center, defense production, new technology and security. With the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Center and the BJP’s double engine government in Odisha working together, the state’s economy, poor welfare schemes and infrastructure are improving at a rapid pace. Odisha’s ‘Vision 2036’ is fully aligned with Modi’s ‘Developed India 2047’ vision.
The Odisha government has set a target of making the state economy $500 billion by 2036 and $1500 billion by 2047. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha’s culture and heritage have received due respect at the national and international levels.
The Konark Temple was displayed in the backdrop of the G-20 Summit held at Bharat Mandapam, and recently the Prime Minister of Germany was presented with a replica of the Konark Temple. Modi’s dream and implementation of a developed India in 2047 and India’s progress are being opposed by some external forces.
The role and direct involvement of the country’s main opposition party Congress and its leader Shri Rahul Gandhi in this is very unfortunate and very harmful to the national interest. In fact, Rahul Gandhi is working at the behest of foreign divisive forces, said Rajya Sabha MP and National Spokesperson Dr. Sudhansu Trivedi.
In a press conference held at the state office today, Dr. Trivedi said that Rahul Gandhi is the biggest threat to India and its strong democracy. From 2012 till date, Rahul Gandhi has made a failed attempt to create a suspicious perception in the public mind regarding all the constitutional institutions of India and public sector financial institutions like State Bank of India and LIC. During the last 12 years of Modi’s government, the number of extremely poor people in the country has come down from 27.1% to 2.6%. About 50 crore people have risen above the extreme poverty line. Poverty in the country is decreasing with economic development.
While countries which were shown by various world organizations to be at the top of the ‘Happiness Index’ or ‘Happiness Report’ are now witnessing widespread violence and anarchy, the people of India are happy with the BJP government under the leadership of Modiji. But the Congress and some opposition parties are not able to tolerate this progress in the country and are trying to create anarchy.
They are defaming democratic institutions like EVMs and the Election Commission during the elections, disrespecting the Supreme Court, breaking into the broadcasting center, creating anarchy in front of the Prime Minister’s house and making a despicable attempt to weaken the Indian democratic system. Dr. Trivedi said that the countrymen have completely rejected such behavior of the Congress.
The Congress is blaming the Election Commission and the SIR process without reviewing why it is losing elections. The Congress has been out of power for a long time before the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government at the Centre in 2014. It has not formed the government in Odisha since 2000, in Gujarat since 1995, in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar since 1990. It has not been in power in Tamil Nadu since the 70s, and in Bengal since 1977. Dr. Trivedi said that it is very ridiculous for the world’s largest political party to challenge the BJP when Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are winning the Lok Sabha seats of Wayanad and Rae Bareli respectively with the help of the Muslim League in Kerala and the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.
The opposition’s propaganda regarding the SIR is extremely baseless, illogical and misleading. This is a delirium of being out of power for a long time and despair. According to the Congress, out of the 13 crore voters whose names have been removed from the new voter list, 2.8 crore are dead, 6.3 crore voters are permanently displaced, 1 crore are registered in more than 1 crore places and 3.01 crore voters are absent from their addresses. These voters have been given notices by the Election Commission as per the law. Dr. Trivedi directly alleged that the Congress party’s attempt to illegally include intruders in the voter list for such voters has raised questions about the unity and integrity of India.
Congress-ruled Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithelibala, Thiruvananthapuram MP and senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and Karnataka government ministers have praised the recent SIR process for making free and fair elections possible in the state. BLOs are appointed by the Election Commission in the process of adding or deleting names from the voter list. Similarly, political parties appoint BLAs on their own. 12 lakh BLOs and 22 lakh BLAs have been appointed in the country.
Sudhanshu then questioned whether the Congress BLAs were asleep or under some other influence. Did they sign the list during the verification of the voter list and if they had any objections, why did they not raise a complaint? Similarly, while the authorized Congress officials at the district and state levels have not filed any complaints, Dr. Trivedi questioned whether Rahul Gandhi’s such bizarre and unrealistic allegations are a manifestation of his childishness or an expression of his anti-India strength.
During the Congress rule, the Chief Election Commissioner was appointed on the basis of administrative recommendations. After the Narendra Modi government came to power, this was reformed and a three-member committee was formed, including the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition.
While the Congress talks big, why does it not include the Leader of the Opposition in the Appointment Committee of the State Election Commissions in the states it governs? Everyone knows how Chief Election Commissioners like T.N. Shestan and M.S. Gill worked for the Congress party and then contested elections from the Congress and got ministerial posts. Similarly, after the death of Rajiv Gandhi, the countrymen have not forgotten how the Election Commission tried to shift the elections across the country and vote in favor of the Congress. Dr. Trivedi has advised the Congress party to reflect on itself before criticizing the elections and the Election Commission today.
State President and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Manmohan Samal and State General Secretary Shri Biranchi Narayan Tripathi were present on the occasion.
After this, Dr. Trivedi joined a huge march in Cuttack at 3 pm. The “Save Democracy, Eliminate Anarchy” campaign was held from College Chowk to Dolamundai Chowk. The march began after garlanding the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at College Chowk. State President and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Manmohan Samal, along with local leaders and activists, participated in the march.
