BHUBANESWAR:Reiterating the strong commitment of the State Government to provide a safe and permanent (PAKHA) house to every eligible family, Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishna Chandra Mohapatra today distributed work orders to 61 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) – PMAY-U 2.0 at a special function organised by Baripada Municipality.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohapatra said that under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, ensuring a safe roof over the heads of the urban poor and middle class families and improving their living conditions is the top priority of the government. “The dream of a permanent house should be fulfilled for every family in the state. The government is making concerted efforts to ensure that no deserving beneficiary is left out,” said Minister Dr. Mohapatra.
Congratulating the 61 beneficiary families who have received the work orders, he expressed hope that their new house will bring happiness, respect, and a better life in their lives.
The Minister further said that PMAY-U 2.0 is playing a vital role in accelerating inclusive urban development and socio-economic empowerment by ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the grassroots level in a transparent and efficient manner.
Baripada Municipality Chairman Krishnananda Mohanty, Deputy Chairman Seemarani Das, Executive Officer Deviprasad Raut, councilors, senior officials of the municipality, local public representatives and beneficiaries along with their family members were present at the event.
