BHUBANESWAR:Today one Narcotic Ganja case has been detected by the Inspector of Excise Range-I Bhubaneswar at Sai Mandir Chhaka, Tanka Pani Road Bhubaneswar.
In this case Accused 1. Manoranjan Roul Age 24 years and 2. Amarjit Patra have been arrested. 45 kilograms of Ganja and one Maruti Grand Vitara car has been seized. The accused Manoranjan Roul was absconding in one NDPS case detected on 17 December 2025 in which 50 kgs Ganja and 2 cars i. HONDA CITY, ii. HYUNDAI CRETA cars were seized.
On getting information regarding further transportation of Ganja by one HYUNDAI CRETA on dt 17th March when Excise Team chased the alleged car, Accused Manoranjan Roul who was driving the car created horror on NH by dashing other vehicle and escaped. Then on 26th March, again being informed of his movement by a Maruti Grand Vitara, the team proceed to Khodha to nab him.
Team gave a check to the alleged car at Medical Square Khordha, but accused escaped by hitting the officers and staff and the official vehicle. Finally on 28.March 2026, information received that the said car bearing Regd number OD 02 DB 5840 hidden somewhere is passing Bhubaneswar via Tankapani road the Excise Team successfully detained the car and seized the Narcotic article 45 kgs of Ganja, 9 number of hand made sutuli bomb and the Car and arrested the accused Manoranjan Roul and his associate. Both the accused have been arrested and forwarded in the court.
