BHUBANESWAR:Today, India is moving towards self-reliance in the production of pulses, the national food grain, and Odisha has emerged as a leading state in this process. This success has been achieved due to the groundbreaking steps and visionary policies taken for the development of agriculture and farmers since the formation of the BJP government in the state. For this glorious success, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Shri K.V. Singhdeo and the state government have been congratulated by Kisan Morcha State President Shri Subhransu Mohan Padhi.

The ‘Atmanirbhar Mission’ launched by the Central Government with the aim of making the country self-reliant in pulse production has completed one year today. The main objective of this scheme is to reduce dependence on pulse imports and increase the income of farmers.
The special efforts and planned assistance of the state government to increase the production of pulses, the national food crop, in addition to traditional paddy cultivation, have now borne fruit. Due to the supply of high-quality seeds to farmers, dissemination of modern agricultural technology, and improvement in irrigation and market connectivity, the interest and production of farmers in pulse cultivation in the state have increased significantly.
This farmer-friendly policy of the state government has not only helped in increasing the income of farmers in Odisha, but also Odisha is making a significant contribution in taking India forward in pulse production at the national level. Shri Padhi expressed his strong hope that with the help of these continuous efforts, Odisha will create a new revolution in the agricultural sector in the coming days and the economic progress of farmers will be further strengthened.
