MALKANGIRI/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha DGP Abhay visited Malkangiri on Saturday along with IGP (Operations) Amitabh Thakur, DIG (SOG) Aniruddh Singh DIG( SWR)Shefeen Ahmed K, Malkangiri SP Khilari Rishikesh and took stock of anti-Maoists Operations.
The cut off areas — Swabhiman Anchal—that used to be worst affected by Left wing extremism- is experiencing new trait with the establishment of COB in December 2019 at Hantalguda followed by another COB at Darlabda in March this year.
DGP Abhay inaugurated a police station at Jodambo to provide service to the people of five Gram Panchayats of the area — Jantri, Andrapalli. Panasput, Jodambo and Gajalmamudi– and facilitate uninterrupted developmental activities in the area.
The Badapada to Jantapayi work is completed while Jantapayi to Jodambo single-layer BT has been completed and Jodambo to Guarasethu to Panasput work is being started, said police sources adding the mettaling work is underway in Janturayi to Gajalmamudi, Darlabeda to Kutunipadar, Jantapayi to Papermetal to Dhuliput to Singabaram and Hantalguda to Kalibandha to Bandhaguda.
