NAYAGARH/BHUBAESWAR: Odisha Agriculture , Farmers Empowerment and Higher Education Minister Dr Arun Sahoo was on Sunday observed Akshay Tritiya at his home district of Nayagarh while abiding by the COVID-19 guidelines.
The Minister Dr Sahoo performed the ‘Akhi Muthi Anukula’ at BJD’s Nayagarh Party office backside agriculture field amid chanting of slokas and mantras.
“I am wishing a very prosperous years for our farmer brothers and sisters on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya as agricultural activities have been exempted from Lockdown guidelines, all should do their work while maintaining social distancing,” Minister Dr Sahoo said.
Farmers were seen sowing seeds in paddy fields after ploughing.The farmers worshipped Mother Earth and goddess Laxmi.Akshay Tritiya marks the commencement of agricultural activities before onset of monsoon.The construction of chariots for Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath also began .
