PURI/BHUBANESWAR:Odia Paksha- 2026 Celebration: An awareness walk was started at the office of the District Collector, Puri today (Date 04.04.2026) at 07.30 am on behalf of the Labour and Employees State Insurance Department, Government of Odisha and District Administration, Puri regarding the display of nameplates in Odia language in front of shops and commercial establishments in Puri district. Puri District Additional District Collector (Administration) Shri Sarat Chandra Behera inaugurated the walk by displaying the flag and said that Odia Paksha is being observed from April 01 to April 14 as per the decision of the government. He informed that programs of various departments have been scheduled for each day.
Additional District Collector Shri Behera mentioned that today, the District Labour Department is organizing an awareness program to display Odia nameplates in various commercial establishments and offices and that preparations are underway in this regard. We are Odia, our language, cuisine, and dress are very attractive; Therefore, keeping our great heritage and tradition intact and paying due respect to the Odia language, Shri Behera requested to make the nameplates in Odia throughout. Later, the procession left the District Collector’s office and went to Shri Chaitanya Chack at the beach and awareness was created through placards and slogans about writing nameplates and leaflets were distributed during this procession.
Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations Shri Santosh Kumar Sethi, Prabhagiya Shram Aut Shri Chaudhary Subrata Kumar Jena, Assistant Labour Officer Priyanka Priyadarshani, Shri Vikram Keshari Pradhan, Shri Ashish Kumar Majhi, Smt. Pallavi Sahu, Shri Chinmay Priyadarshani and Shri Ashutosh Sahu were present in this program. Apart from this, journalists from various print and electronic media of Puri district, various auto drivers’ associations, construction workers’ associations, shop and trade associations, and volunteers’ organizations participated in the march in hundreds.
