BHUBANESWAR:At the forefront of every successful treatment lies the dedication of doctors over the years, continuous acquisition of knowledge and unseen sacrifices. Patients regard doctors as Gods, said Mrs. Sashwati Das, Vice President, Education and Research (SOR).
Addressing a special program organized by the Institute of Medical Sciences and Some Hospitals Campus 1, run by SOA, on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day on July 1, as the chief guest, Shrimati Das said that the decisions that doctors take every day deeply affect the patients and their families. Therefore, Shrimati Das hoped that doctors should treat patients as their own relatives.
Srimati Das has wished IMS & Sam doctors a bright future as they continue to excel in the field of patient care.
On this occasion, Principal Advisor (Health Sciences) of SOAR, Padma Shri Professor (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, was the guest of honour and in his speech expressed his hope that IMS & Sam Hospital will be among the top 10 hospitals in the country.
Speaking at the event, Dean of IMS & Sam Hospital Campus-1, Professor (Dr.) Sanghamitra Mishra said that both the birth and death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bidhan Chandra Ray are celebrated as National Doctors’ Day. The Dean said that IMS & Sam Hospital has honored the doctors on this occasion.
In the program, Additional Dean of IMS & Sam Hospital Campus-1, Professor (Dr) Ajay Kumar Jena, Medical Superintendent Professor (Dr) Pushparaj Samantasinghar, and Medical Superintendent of Campus-2, Professor (Dr) Rajesh Kumar Lenka, praised the dedicated work of the doctors in their speeches.
On this occasion, the Vice President honored about 35 doctors and department heads who were chosen and nominated by the medical students.
The cultural programme presented by the doctors was the main attraction of the day. The programme was attended by heads of various departments, professors, senior doctors and staff.
