BHUBANESWAR:Sambalpur MP Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said while participating in the ‘Nuankhai Bhetghat-2026’ ceremony organized in Kuchinda, Sambalpur on Thursday that Nuankhai is a symbol of intimacy, tradition and unity.
In this program organized by the Art Council, Kuchinda, Shri Pradhan Nuakhai highlighted the sanctity, brotherhood and importance of the Bhetghat festival. Praising the cultural heritage of Kuchinda, he said that Kuchinda is a major cultural center of Odisha. Kuchinda Art Council was formed about 70 years ago, in 1955. This is a shining proof of the deep devotion towards art, literature and culture of the region.
He also reminded that great personalities like Bamanda Raja Sudhal Deb, Subhava Kavi Gangadhar Meher and Chandrashekhar Behera have made an invaluable contribution to the freedom movement, the formation of Odisha and the Odia language movement. Thanking all the workers of the Kala Parishad and the people of Kuchinda, MP Shri Pradhan hoped that on this occasion, the tradition of entertainment and friendly meetings would continue to maintain unity among all.
Odisha’s Minister for Rural Development, Drinking Water and Panchayati Raj, Ravi Narayan Naik, and eminent cultural personality Padma Shri Mitrabhanu Guntia were prominently present at the event.
