BERHAMPUR/BHUBANESWAR:After the Union Government cleared the Rs 8,300 crore Rameshwar-Paradip coastal highway, Berhampur MP Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi has welcomed the project and made an important demand for the industrial revolution of South Odisha. He has written to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi requesting him to immediately connect the long-delayed Sunpur (Ganjam) to Balugaon (Chilika) coastal highway section.
The MP mentioned that this road is very important for the growth of the Berhampur-Chhatrapur-Ganjam (BCG) Industrial Agglomeration along with the proposed Bahuda Port in Sunpur and the operational Gopalpur Port.
Besides, this highway will play a major role in increasing international exports from the Rare-Earth Corridor for transportation of valuable minerals from the Ganjam coast and the Tata Steel SEZ (Gopalpur). He urged the Prime Minister, Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi to immediately complete the work of this delayed project to create a ‘Blue Economy’ revolution by taking advantage of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) of the Government of India and bringing Odisha’s fish resources to the global market.
