SAMBALPUR: The government is fully sensitive to the pollution, employment, land valuation and legitimate rights of the displaced people caused by industrial sites. Extensive steps are being taken at the administrative level to ensure the basic livelihood and health of the local people, said MP Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in the ‘Seva Setu Shivir’ under separate ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ organized at Jamankira and Rengali under Sambalpur parliamentary constituency today.
He distributed assistance and social security allowance to the beneficiaries of various government schemes in the Seva Setu Shivir program. Addressing a gathering organized at Jamankira, Shri Pradhan said that the service efforts of the last 25 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have created a new chapter of development in the country. The all-round development of the poor, women, farmers, tribals and youth is the main basis of this service model. The Odisha Government has made special arrangements to provide social security allowance to the newly added elderly and destitute people in the state, which is a historic step in the recent past. Under this scheme, allowance has been provided to more than 600 new eligible beneficiaries of Jamankira block. He has directed the local video and administrative officers to ensure that the allowance is provided directly to every eligible beneficiary who has applied earlier, without any intermediaries and without any hassle, through online entry.
At the ‘Seva Setu’ program organized at Rengali, MP Shri Pradhan said that he is fully aware of the basic problems of the displaced families of Hirakud reservoir and this sacred land of Veer Surendra Sai. The government is very sensitive to the pollution, employment, land valuation and legitimate rights of the displaced people caused by the industrial site. He especially drew the attention of the Chief Minister of Odisha regarding the serious problems being created in the movement of common people due to illegal parking of heavy trucks, ash and coal laden vehicles of the industrial sector on State Highway-10. Vehicles are parked only in strictly designated parking spaces and extensive steps are being taken at the administrative level for the basic livelihood and health protection of the local people.
During the visit, Shri Pradhan inaugurated a new primary health centre at Katarbaga in Rengali and a newly constructed welfare centre at Ganesh Nagar. He said that these new health centres and welfare centres will be of great help to the local people. Shri Pradhan, Member of Parliament, highly appreciated the efforts of the district administration in this ‘Seva Setu’ camp to sensitize the public about government schemes, agricultural production, maternal and child nutrition, employment, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and rural development so that no one is left behind due to lack of information.
Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Ravi Narayan Naik was a prominent presence in all these programs.
