BHUBANESWAR:The Kalinga Sena has demanded that the State School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond resign immediately for the unforgivable mistakes made in the textbook published in Odia language for the students of Odisha. Along with this, a case be registered against the officers/employees responsible for publishing the book and all the loss money be recovered from them.
Sena Chief Hemant Rath said that the thousands of errors that have been observed in the recently published Odia textbook are rare in the history of Odisha education. Not only has misleading information been given in it regarding the Varputras, but a photograph of the Karnataka Assembly has been put in place of the photograph of the Odisha Assembly. One thing is clear from this that no departmental minister or officer is sensitive to the needs of Odia students. If the book had at least glanced at the students before going to them, this would not have happened.
Shri Rath said that the state government should make public which organization or person was responsible for publishing this book and how much money they took. Since the money was wasted by printing lakhs of books, this organization should be blacklisted immediately, the responsible officer should be arrested and all the money should be recovered from them. Shri Rath demanded that the state government take strict steps as soon as possible and provide revised and correct textbooks to the students.
