NEW DELHI:Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal, MP, Lok Sabha and member of the IPU Committee on Health participated in the sessions of the IPU Committee on Health and also accompanied the Committee on a field visit.
Shri Harivansh, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha participated in the meetings of the 153rd IPU Assembly and exercised the Right of Reply to certain uncalled remarks made by Pakistan on Kashmir. On the floor of the Assembly, he said that Kashmir is an integral and inalienable part of India and Pakistan has no locus-standi to comment on India’s internal affairs.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, MP, Lok Sabha participated in the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights and also participated in the debate on the draft resolution on ‘Inclusive social development for all: Parliamentary strategies to promote the rights and empowerment of people living with disabilities’.
Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, MP, Lok Sabha attended the meeting of the Standing Committee on Peace and International Security, and participated in the debate ‘Shaping peaceful futures: Parliamentary diplomacy, mediation and dialogue for lasting peace’.
Dr. Sasmit Patra, MP, Rajya Sabha participated in the panel discussion of the above Committee on the ‘Role of parliaments in securing peace in the age of military artificial intelligence’. He also participated in the deliberations of the Standing Committee on Democracy and Human Rights and contributed to the drafting of the aforementioned resolution.
Shri N.K. Premachandran, MP, Lok Sabha participated in the Workshop on ‘Strengthening parliamentary response to terrorism: introducing the IPU reference framework’. He also participated in the workshop on ‘Critical minerals for shared prosperity: strengthening parliamentary oversight’.
In the evening, the Indian High Commission, in honour of the Delegation, organized a cultural programme. After the event, the Delegation interacted with the Indian Diaspora.
