PURI/BHUBANESWAR:In anticipation of the massive congregation of devotees for the upcoming auspicious Snana Purnima festival, Dr. Satyajit Naik, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Central Range, conducted a comprehensive high-level review of the security, traffic, and crowd management arrangements in the holy town of Puri today. Accompanied by Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) Prateek Singh, IPS, and other senior administrative and police officials, the IG visited the Shree Jagannath Temple to seek the blessings of Lord Mahaprabhu before initiating the field inspection.
With Snana Purnima scheduled for June 29, 2026, the review primarily focused on executing a seamless, devotee-centric security layout that streamlines entry and exit points through the temple gates to maintain an orderly flow during the Pahandi ceremonial procession and the grand bathing rituals on the Snana Bedi. Additionally, the blueprint includes mobilizing adequate police personnel, setting up dedicated traffic corridors along the Bada Danda Grand Road to avoid bottlenecks, facilitating emergency vehicle access, and strengthening 24/7 CCTV surveillance around the outer complex and crucial intersections to actively monitor crowd density.
