BHUBANESWAR:With the aim of spreading awareness about the dangers and harms of tobacco use and the importance of living a tobacco-free life, the Institute of Dental Sciences, SoA University, organized a walkathon on Wednesday to mark World No Tobacco Day.
The rally started from IDS and passed through Sam Hospital Chowk and APJ Abdul Kalam Park before returning to the college. Faculty members, interns and students participated enthusiastically in the rally. Similarly, the interns of IDS who participated in the rally made the program a success and distributed awareness pamphlets to the public.
The rally was inaugurated by Professor Sanath Kumar Bhuyan, Nodal Officer, Tobacco Cessation Center, IDS, and was joined by Dr. Basanta Chowdhury. The event was moderated by Dr. Gatha Mohanty, Dr. Smita Priyadarsani, and Dr. Sumita Mishra.
The event was successfully organized under the direct supervision of IDS Dean Professor (Dr.) Ruchi Bhuyan and provided a message on making Odisha healthy and tobacco-free.
