GST Enforcement Wing Conducts Raids on Bharat Motors

BHUBANESWAR: Action taken by the Tax Recovery Officer, Joint Commissioner Enforcement Wing for recovery of arrear of entry tax dues of Rs 38.47 Crore on Bharat Motors.

1.Attachment of movable property by seizure i.e two wheelers, four wheelers both passenger and heavy vehicle lying in following places .

(i)                Plot No.1, Cuttack Road, Laxmisagar

(ii)               Plot No.43, 44, Mancheswar Industrial Estate

(iii)              Plot No.213, 214, NH-16, Pahala

2.Attachment of immovable property i.e 1.8 Acres of land and the building standing thereon in Plot No.213,214,NH-16 Pahal, Bhubaneswar, 752101.Nos of teams engaged in the work – 5 consisting of 30 officers.

1.                Managing Director –  Sri Jay Prakash Didwania

2.                Business – Four wheelers both passenger and heavy vehicle

3.                Place of business – Plot No.213,214,NH-16 Pahal, Bhubaneswar, Khurda 752101     

4.                Entry tax arrear dues – Rs.15.71 Crores (Tax : Rs.6.17 Crores + Interest : Rs.9.53 Crores)

5.                Pendency : 2008 to 30.04.2017

6.                As per judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court dt.27.03.2017, the dealer has to pay arrear tax of Rs.10.42 Crores

7.                The dealer failed to pay arrear dues as per the installment fixed by the Commissioner effective from April 2020.

4.                Entry tax arrear dues – Rs.22.76 Crores (Tax : Rs.7.92 Crores + Interest : Rs.14.84 Crores)

5.                Pendency : 2008 to 30.04.2017

6.                As per judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court dt.27.03.2017, the dealer has to pay arrear tax amounting to Rs.12.36 Crores

7.                The dealer failed to pay arrear dues as per the installment fixed by the Commissioner effective from April 2020.
